Raising Funds at The Barristers’ Benevolent Association

We rely on donations from barristers for our funds.

Here at The Barristers’ Benevolent Association, we suggest that each barrister donates a sum equivalent to one hour of their charging rate annually or set up a standing order for regular donations.

Donate via JustGiving

The simplest way to help, whether it’s with a one-off gift or a regular donation is to give online. Just visit our secure JustGiving page, enter the amount you want to give and follow the instructions.

Set up a Standing Order

If you would like to donate regularly by setting up a standing order, arrange this with your bank and let us know the details to us so that we can identify the donation with our records and claim Gift Aid.

One-off Donations

To make a one off donation you can simply set up a transfer using our bank details. Contact us to get a payment reference, alternatively set up your payment and use your surname, first name then send us an email so we allocate the payment correctly.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, make sure you tick the Gift Aid box – the charity can receive an extra 25% from HMRC on top of your donation. Download, complete and return our gift aid declaration form here.

We believe that almost every member of the practising Bar can afford to donate at least a sum equivalent to one hour of their charging rate without feeling a real difference.

One hour is all we ask but please give more if you can afford it. You can donate today using any of the methods listed above.
